All in a Day's Work
In case you missed it, WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! It's been one of the most stressful things we've ever done, but Sean and I got through it, and now we're bonafide adults with property of our very own. We celebrated with sushi and champagne, and we've been working our asses off ever since.
Our normal schedule has Sean and me rolling out of bed at a lazy 11am or so, but this week we've been waking up at 7 so we can meet the electrician at our new house by 8 o'clock to start the day. Once we're there, we start painting, cleaning, fixing things, or digging long, deep trenches in the backyard. Yeah, this is a little different for us.
Then the electrician (who's having us dig the ditch for the wires he's installing for our studio in the garage) told us we could rent a giant machine to do the digging for us. Yay! The trencher is the only thing that kept us from killing ourselves this afternoon.
Instead of digging a 20 in. ditch for 6 hrs, we got to paint two bedrooms and add a second coat to all the ceilings and one bathroom. We still need to do a second coat in the bedrooms, and there are plenty more rooms that need to be painted and primed, but it's moving along. We should be on track to move in about a week from now!
Tomorrow, we're moving all the studio equipment over, and having the electrician install lighting fixtures and finish wiring everything. On Friday, we get to sleep in before painting even more, and hopefully ripping up some carpet.
You can see more pictures of our new house on Flickr, if ya wanna.
